2. Geographic Scope & International Requests
Shortsy is operated by Wicked Wheels Express Ltd. in the United States.
- Domestic Requests: We comply with U.S. legal process for data stored on U.S. servers.
- Foreign Requests: Requests from non‑U.S. law enforcement must be submitted via Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) or equivalent diplomatic channels.
- Data Stored Abroad: Requests for data stored outside the U.S. must be domesticated in the jurisdiction where that data resides before we can respond.
3. Our Review Process
- Validity Check: We verify that the request is properly issued and enforceable under applicable law.
- Narrow Compliance: We disclose only the data specifically compelled by the request.
- User Notification: Unless prohibited by law, we notify the affected user before disclosure. If a nondisclosure order applies, the requesting agency must include that justification.
We reserve the right to seek reasonable reimbursement of costs if compliance imposes material expenses.
4. Emergency Disclosures
In exigent circumstances—where there is a reasonable belief of imminent risk to life or safety—we may disclose necessary information without formal legal process. Such disclosures are rare and made in good faith.
5. Record‑Keeping & Repeat Requests
- We maintain a log of all law enforcement requests.
- Accounts of users who repeatedly violate our Terms of Service or infringe others’ rights may be suspended or terminated, in line with applicable law and our internal policies.
For more on how we handle user data generally, please see our Privacy Notice.
